Chartres is world-famous for its 176 original stained-glass windows, dating mostly from the 12th–13th centuries. They are among the best-preserved medieval windows in the world.
2. The Labyrinth (Le labyrinthe)
Located on the floor of the nave, this 13th-century stone labyrinth symbolizes the spiritual journey toward salvation.
Open and fully visible on Fridays (chairs are usually removed).

A masterpiece of 12th-century Gothic sculpture, featuring:
