Dowth Passage Tomb
Set in the historic heart of County Meath’s Boyne Valley, Dowth stands as a powerful testament to Ireland’s ancient origins. Built more than 5,000 years ago, this remarkable Neolithic site features a sprawling mound that conceals two separate passage chambers. What truly sets Dowth apart is its breathtaking collection of megalithic art: intricate spirals, concentric circles, zigzags, and rare cup-and-ring motifs carved directly into its ancient stone faces. Archaeologists have uncovered human remains and sacred artifacts within its depths, shedding light on the complex ritual customs of early farming societies. Today, Dowth remains one of Ireland's most captivating monuments, keeping the artistic legacy of the ancient past alive.
