The adventure begins with a scenic hike through the rainforest to reach the river's edge, where guests are fitted with an inner tube and headlamp. From there, float gently along the cool river current as it winds into a series of interconnected caves, where sunlight filters through openings in the limestone ceiling, illuminating dramatic rock formations above and below the water.
As you drift through the caves, your guide points out natural features such as stalactites, stalagmites, and ancient flowstone formations, while sharing insight into how the Maya once used these caves for ceremonial purposes. The gentle current does most of the work, making this a relaxing yet awe-inspiring journey...
