After arriving, we will start with a guided tour of the oldest part of the camp complex, a center of gradual extermination by creating inhuman living conditions and the extermination of prisoners.
Here you will see:
- the sinister gate of the camp with the inscription Arbeit macht frei;
- former camp barracks, and today places of thematic exhibitions devoted to the history of the camp, illustrations of prisoners' lives, storing a collection of personal belongings, photos;
- the wall where the prisoners were shot, barbed wire fencing, watch towers, gallows - everything that still testifies to the conditions under which the Nazi genocide took place.
After a short break - a visit to Auschwitz II-Birkenau, located about 3 km away, occupying a huge area of 140 hectares. About 300 different buildings - barracks, latrines, guardhouses, illustrate the conditions in which the prisoners lived, and the gas chambers and the ruins of crematoria are a silent symbol of their extermination...
