The Catholic temples of Santa María del Naranco and San Miguel de Lillo are located on the southern slopes of Mount Naranco de Oviedo, four kilometers from the city center. Originally, Santa Maria was not designed as a church, but was the Aula Regia of the palatial complex that King Ramiro I had built on the outskirts of the capital in 842. His artistic style is called “ramirense”, within the pre-Romanesque Asturian.

The Holy Church Basilica Metropolitan Cathedral of San Salvador de Oviedo is a Gothic style cathedral located in the city of Oviedo (Principality of Asturias, Spain). It is also known as Sancta Ovetensis, referring to the quality and quantity of the relics it contains. It began to be built at the end of the 13th century by the chapter hall and the cloister, and its construction lasted for three centuries until the finishing of the tower in the mid-16th century. Later a girola would be added in the 16th century in addition to various chapels attached to the side naves.

It was inaugurated on May 19, 1980 from the art collection owned by the former Provincial Council of Oviedo, now under the Ministry of Culture of the Principality of Asturias and is paid for with funds from the Principality and the City Council of Oviedo. The Museum currently has a collection of almost 15,000 works, including painting (about 1500), sculpture, drawing, printmaking and industrial arts (about 4,000 pieces),1 although it actually has a permanent exhibition of 800.2 It contains paintings by Spanish, especially Asturian, and foreign artists, including Italian and Flemish paintings, as well as sculptures, photographs and glass and earthenware objects. In 2017 the collection has been remarkably enriched with 33 important works donated by Plácido Arango Arias.

Campo de San Francisco is an urban park located in the center of the city of Oviedo (Spain). It is one of the most emblematic places in the city12 and one of the largest urban parks in Asturias. Originating from the orchards of the defunct Convent of San Francisco, several walks and avenues can be distinguished inside: the Alamos walk, the Bombé walk, the José Cuesta walk, Italia avenue or Germany avenue, among others.2 It has a pond and numerous well-known monuments such as the statue of Mafalda or José Tartiere.

Campoamor Theatre is the opera house of Oviedo, founded in 1892 and known for hosting, among other events, the Princess of Asturias Awards.

The Fontán, nowadays is a rectangular street and square located in the old town of Oviedo, Principality of Asturias (Spain). Its name comes from the spring or fountain that filled the primitive lagoon that was in that area. Formerly used as a comedy corral, today it is one of the points of the so-called Fontán market and hospitality area. Next to this is the covered market of El Fontán, from 1885.

It is the center of the old town of Oviedo. From a single tower, it stands on the basilica built by order of Alfonso II, "El Casto". The first altar to San Salvador was consecrated on October 13, 821, 1,200 years ago. Although most of the basilica is from the 15th century, due to its numerous reconstructions, it combines different artistic styles, predominantly the flame-lit Gothic.

Having Oviedo at the foot is a real feeling we experience from the top of Mount Naranco. A rounded hill of 636 meters altitude and more than 30,000 square meters of open and natural space that crowns the Asturian capital and offers us its best panorama.

Uria Street is the main commercial artery of Oviedo, capital of Asturias. It takes its name from the politician José Francisco Uría y Riego.
