The Abydos temple area is considered one of the most important archaeological areas in Egypt and the world, due to its religious and historical center in ancient Egypt. It contains the tombs of the first kings of Egypt during the era of the first and second dynasties, and it contains antiquities from the nineteenth dynasty.
And the lands of this region were considered sacred in the eyes of the ancient Egyptians, as it had a sublime religious status in the belief of the Pharaohs, thanks to its connection with the ancient people’s idol Osiris, and the Pharaohs believed in the past that the head of this god was buried in this region, and some of them even believed that his whole body was buried in it.

Complexe du temple de Dendérah
Hathor était l'une des divinités les plus importantes et les plus populaires de l'Égypte antique. Elle était associée à la musique, à la joie, à la danse et à la maternité ; elle était également connue comme la dame du ciel. Son principal centre de culte se trouvait à Dendérah, où se dresse aujourd'hui l'un des temples les mieux préservés d'Égypte. L'entrée du temple, ornée de six colonnes massives surmontées de la tête d'Hathor, est considérée comme l'un des plus beaux monuments d'Égypte. Des sistres (instruments de musique) étroitement associés à la déesse encadrent sa tête.
Le temple de Dendérah remonte à l'époque ptolémaïque, bien que des vestiges suggèrent l'existence de structures plus anciennes sur le site, remontant au roi Pépi Ier, sous l'Ancien Empire. Parmi les éléments les plus remarquables du temple figurent les gravures astronomiques sur son plafond.
