The starting point for your trip on the Kilimanjaro Rongai Route is at Marangu's Park Gate, after which you will have transportation to the Rongai trail in front of you (1,950m). You might spot giant monkeys. The road ends at the first Cave camp (2,600 m) and it gradually allows you to enjoy the surroundings. Porters and cooks move faster, so when you get to camp, you'll find them waiting and having set up a tent for you. They might even have popcorn ready for you and something hot to drink. At the camp, you will have hot water to shower and then change into the clothes you walk, keeping warm. Enjoy the camp environment while waiting for dinner time. At night, mountain temperatures can drop to freezing, be prepared.
