Temple of Karnak After lunch, begin your East Bank tour with a visit to Karnak Temple—the largest religious complex from ancient Egypt. Walk through its colossal hypostyle hall, and see towering obelisks and sacred spaces dedicated to Amun, Mut, and Khonsu. This vast site was expanded by many great pharaohs, including Ramses II and Hatshepsut. Then continue to Luxor Temple, once connected to Karnak by the Avenue of Sphinxes, and closely linked to the young king Tutankhamun.
