U.S. Capitol In-depth Tour + The National Archives + Supreme Court of the United States + Library of Congress The National Archives houses valuable documents, photographs, and video materials from various periods in American history. The most famous collection is the original manuscript of the founding documents written on parchment drafted at the beginning of the founding of the country in 1776, which includes three copies: the Declaration of Independence, the United States Constitution and the Bill of Rights. The Korean War Veterans Memorial is located near the Lincoln Memorial on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. It was dedicated on July 27, 1995. The Memorial was designed and financed by private contributions and erected under the auspices of the Korean War Veterans Memorial Advisory Board composed of Korean War veterans appointed by President Reagan. The memorial commemorates the sacrifices of the 5.8 million Americans who served in the U.S. armed services during the three-year period of the Korean War. The War was one of the most hard fought in our history. During its relatively short duration from June 25, 1950 to July 27, 1953, 36,574 Americans died in hostile actions in the Korean War theater. Of these, 8,200 are listed as missing in action or lost or buried at sea.

Located north of the Lincoln Memorial near the intersection of 22nd St. The memorial includes the names of over 58,000 servicemen and women who gave their lives in service in the Vietnam Conflict. The memorial also includes "The Three Servicemen" statue and the Vietnam Women's Memorial. Since its dedication in 1982, visitors have brought offerings to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial to honor and remember those who served in the Vietnam War.
