1
Valley of the Kings
Valley of the Kings, burial place of the kings of Thebes (ancient Luxor), you will make a brief stop at the visitor center. 2
Temple of Hatshepsut at Deir el Bahari
Continue to visit the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, which was built by Queen Hatshepsut, daughter of Thutmose I, who ruled Egypt for around 20 years during the 18th Dynasty (around 1490-1469 BC), the only Pharaonic woman who ruled ancient Egypt.
1 hour
3
Colossi of Memnon
A brief photo stop at the Colossi of Memnon, which marks the site of the mortuary temple of Amenhotep III. These two giant statues standing proud in the West Bank are all that remains of the old complex.
4
Temple of Karnak
Walk along Avenue of the Sphinx to enter the complex as your guide explains how the massive facade was constructed. As you enter the temples of Karnak, you will see every legacy left by the various pharaohs as the complex grew further. The further you enter the complex, the further back in time you will be, with the oldest ruins dating back over 3000 years.
As you walk through the Great Courtyard to the Great Hypostyle Hall, it's hard not to be overwhelmed by the 134 columns that tower above you like an ancient forest. At the rear of the complex you will find the sacred lake where centuries ago the pharaohs and their offerings to the gods were purified. After a tour of the resort, you will have additional free time to explore at your leisure.

Luxor Temple
That was once joined to the temples of Karnak by a two kilometer long avenue of the Sphinx, part of which marks the entrance to the temple. Dominated by statues of the great warrior Pharaoh Ramses II, the Temple of Luxor has survived the Nile floods, alien invasion and thousands of years of exposure to the elements.
A purely Egyptian temple, the interior walls and columns are decorated with intricate hieroglyphics that your guide will help you decipher. Learn about how Alexander the Great wrote himself in the history of the Luxor Temple, and see one of the original pairs of obelisks, the second of which now stands on Place de la Concorde in Paris.
