your adventure begins with an early morning departure from Nairobi, traveling north through the scenic central highlands, passing coffee and tea plantations before crossing the equator en route to Samburu National Reserve. You will arrive in time for lunch at your lodge or luxury tented camp, where you can relax and enjoy the serene surroundings overlooking the Ewaso Nyiro River. After some rest, head out for your first afternoon game drive across the reserve’s rugged terrain. Samburu is famous for the “Samburu Special Five” — the Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich, Beisa oryx, and gerenuk — species rarely found in southern parks.
