Kaifu Temple is a thousand-year-old temple located in the busy city center. Built in 927 AD during the Later Tang Dynasty of the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period, it is one of China’s key Buddhist temples. Locals believe it to be very spiritual, and whether or not they practice Buddhism, people often come here to pray for blessings. You can light incense and offer prayers for your family’s well-being, and if you’re interested, you can draw a fortune stick or buy some unique cultural products and take pictures.

A night cruise on the Xiang River is the best way to enjoy Changsha's nightscape. The cruise departs from the northern "Three Museums and One Hall" dock and heads south along the river.
