Temple du Ciel
The Temple of Heaven was built in 1420 AD in the Ming Dynasty (1368 - 1644 AD) and rebuilt twice in the Qing Dynasty (1644 - 1911 AD). It was the imperial place where the emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties worshipped the Heaven and prayed for harvests. It is listed as a World Cultural Heritage. The well-known Altar of Prayer for Good Harvests is the main architecture there. Your guide will lead you to visit the Circular Mound Altar, Imperial Vault of Heaven, Divine Music Administration and Palace of Abstinence, and learn Heaven worship culture in ancient China.
In addition to appreciating the splendid architecture in the Temple of Heaven, you can also see the local people's leisured life there. They are doing more exercises, playing chess, playing musical instruments, practicing singing, dancing or Taichi. It has become a large park for the locals, so you can see the real live scenes. That's also the reason we arrange the visit in the morning.

After visiting the Temple of Heaven, you will leave for Hutong Alleys, where is the second stop of our Temple of Heaven and rickshaw tour. There are quite a few ancient Hutongs in Beijing, which are the traditional alleys with old Siheyuan, a kind of folk quadrangle dwellings in Beijing. Hutongs in Beijing were usually named after the place name or the functions. There are also some former residences of celebrities hidden in the old Hutongs.
You can wander in these Hutongs, also we will arrange a special rickshaw tour for you. Rickshaw is a three-wheeled vehicle drawn by man that was a popular transportation in cities in the Republic of China era. Experience a rickshaw tour may make you seem to travel to the early 20th century. You will have some free time to explore the area and have lunch. Your guide would recommend you good restaurants and foods.
