Ich bin eine Hmong-Mutter von vier Kindern und habe mein ganzes Leben in Ta Van, Sapa, gelebt. Als Teenager begann ich als Reiseleiter zu arbeiten und führte Wanderungen in den Bergen und auf Reisterrassen durch. Ich liebe meine Familie und meine Gemeinschaft und habe hart daran gearbeitet, für uns alle ein besseres Leben zu ermöglichen. Ich liebe es, mit meinen Gästen die lokale Hmong-Kultur zu teilen. Ich praktiziere seit mehr als 15 Jahren Hmong-Textiltraditionen. In den letzten Jahren bin ich auch in Dörfer im bergigen Norden Vietnams gereist, um mehr über traditionelle Textilien und Naturfarben verschiedener ethnischer Gruppen zu erfahren. Hmong-Batik und Indigo-Färbung sind eine Kunst, die ich so sehr liebe, und ich leite diesen Workshop, weil ich zutiefst die Verantwortung spüre, sie zu bewahren und mit mehr Menschen zu teilen.

Der Hmong-Batikkurs ist eine ganztägige Einführung in die Kunst der Hanfproduktion, des Batikdesigns und des Indigofärbens. Dies gibt einen seltenen Einblick in den Reichtum der Hmong-Kultur in einer warmen, freundlichen und familiären Umgebung. Jeder Schüler erstellt ein Wachsresist-Design im Hmong-Stil auf handgewebtem Hanf oder Baumwolle. Aus Zeitgründen ist es nicht möglich, den Färbeteil des Prozesses abzuschließen (wenn Sie ein paar Tage in Sapa bleiben, kann dies arrangiert werden). Der natürliche Hanf ergibt ein wunderschönes fertiges Stück. Der Unterricht findet in unserer Werkstatt in Sapa statt. Die Kurse beginnen gegen 9:00 Uhr (wir sind flexibel) und dauern normalerweise zwischen 5 und 6 Stunden. Der Tag beinhaltet Informationen über die Hmong-Symbiologie, die Bedeutung von Textilien und Geschichte.
