Enjoy exclusive, private access to a Kyoto City-designated Important Cultural Machiya, complete with an authentic tea room and tranquil tea garden. Over the course of approximately one hour, you can explore this historic space at your own pace with our self-guided audio tour.
The interior is filled with hands-on exhibits, allowing you to handle traditional tea utensils and practice Ikebana floral arrangements in various vases.
As an optional experience, you can also learn the authentic art of whisking and serving matcha directly from a tea ceremony master.

This experience takes place at Shizuhamo (Seasonal Harmony), a self-guided cultural space inside a Kyoto machiya officially designated by Kyoto City as an Important Kyomachiya. Located near Fushimi Inari Taisha, one reservation includes private access for up to 9 guests, allowing families and friends to enjoy the space together during a private 55-minute time slot.
Guests enter using a secure access code automatically sent after booking and freely explore the machiya through a self-guided, hands-on cultural experience. Rather than simply looking around, visitors are encouraged to interact with the space at their own pace.
