We'll be driving through the Varzob valley and Hisar mountains, following the Varzob river, and the trip will take about 3-4 hours. Next, we'll take a thrilling drive along the legendary Anzob pass and tunnel, which is an impressive 2,600 meters above sea level. Then, we'll journey through the stunning Fann gorges to reach the breathtaking Iskanderkul Lake. Short stop for rest and photography. Panoramic views over the Hissar mountain range and surrounding valleys.

Lake Iskanderkul is unquestionably one of the most beautiful and legendary places in Tajikistan, located in the heart of the Fann Mountains. Named after Alexander the Great, it captivates with its turquoise waters, tranquil highlands, and majestic rock formations. The lake is located at an altitude of over 2,200 metres. It attracts travelers with its clean air, picturesque panoramas and unique natural beauty. The road to Iskanderkul is stunning: breathtaking views of mountain ranges, gorges and rivers. Once you're there, you'll have plenty to keep you busy: hiking, taking photographs, visiting the Fann Niagara Falls and relaxing by the lake.

After lunch, we continue our journey to Snake Lake, a small, tranquil spot located close to Iskanderkul. This charming lake is known for several unique qualities: • its water is noticeably warmer than Iskanderkul, • in summer, it becomes one of the best swimming spots, • the surrounding area is peaceful and secluded, offering a natural escape from noise and crowds. Despite its name, the lake is completely safe. It is considered one of the “hidden gems” of the Fann Mountains.

Your first encounter with the beauty around the lake begins with a scenic trail that leads to the waterfall. Along the way, you will enjoy: • an easy and pleasant hike, • panoramic viewpoints above the gorge, • a spectacular 43-meter waterfall, known among travelers as the “Niagara of the Fann Mountains.”

Here, five crystal-clear springs merge into a single river that flows into Lake Iskanderkul. The purity of the water, the fresh mountain air, and the surrounding silence create a sense of harmony and calm. Many visitors describe Panjchashma as an energetic center of the area. Bucephalus Cave Located just a short distance from Panjchashma, the Bucephalus Cave is deeply intertwined with ancient tales of Alexander the Great and his famous horse. Local legends say that the spirit of Bucephalus still guards the lake and occasionally reveals itself on clear moonlit nights.

We will return to Dushanbe through the Varzob valley and Hisar mountains, following the Varzob Gorge, and the trip will take about 3-4 hours.
