We’re heading to the Sacred Valley of the Incas. We’ll begin our hike in the Ollantaytambo area, passing through terraces and tambos, until we reach the base of one of the area’s most important mountains: Apu Buena Negra, a granite geological formation. From the Cachiccata quarry, we’ll enjoy a breathtaking view of the snow-capped Veronica, one of the most prominent peaks in the Urubamba mountain range, and the Pakaritampu pyramid. This is where we’ll enjoy our lunch, followed by the descent down the mountain, while taking in stunning views of the Sacred Valley. Our hike ends at “El Rancho,” in the community of Cachiccata.
