Old Caoling Tunnel
This morning, you will be heading to Old Caoling Tunnel for bike tour by train traveling through the Northeast Coastline mountains.
After arriving at Fulong Train Station, you will rent a bike and start the Old Caoling Tunnel Bike Tour. Old Caoling Tunnel was a train tunnel completed in 1924, connecting New Taipei City and Yilan on the north coast, and was the longest tunnel by the time. Now, it is part of the beautiful north coast bikeway that combines its history and culture, and it was named a finalist in the Destination Award Category of the Tourism for Tomorrow Awards 2015 by WTTC.
While riding through the tunnel, you will hear a folk Taiwanese song called “Diu Diu Dong” (means “train cave” in Taiwanese). After coming out of the tunnel, you will be riding along the coastline and up close to the geology landforms and ocean view.
