Дворец Независимости
Reunification Palace served as the headquarters of Vietnamese General Ngo Dinh Diem until his death in 1963 and secured its place in global history in 1975. It was here that a tank from the North Vietnamese Army famously crashed through the main gate, signaling the end of the Vietnam War. Today, this iconic landmark is a must-see destination for visitors to Ho Chi Minh City.
The palace offers a fascinating glimpse into history, seemingly frozen in time since 1975. On its grounds, you can find two of the original tanks used during the pivotal capture of the palace. Originally built to serve as the residence and workplace of the French Governor of Cochin-China, Reunification Palace boasts expansive gardens, hidden rooms, vintage furnishings, and even a command bunker. Despite its historical significance, it continues to serve a modern purpose, hosting major events in Ho Chi Minh City, including APEC summits.

Музей отголосков войны
The War Remnants Museum in Ho Chi Minh City has been open to the public since 1975. Previously referred to as the Museum of American War Crimes, it serves as a stark reminder of the Vietnam War’s prolonged and harrowing history. The museum features graphic photographs and exhibits of American military equipment, including a helicopter armed with rocket launchers, a tank, a fighter plane, and a single-seater attack aircraft. Among the displays is a staggering 6,800-kilogram conventional bomb. These weapons were employed by American forces during their involvement in Vietnam from 1945 to 1975.

Собор Сайгонской Богоматери
Saigon Notre-Dame Cathedral, constructed in the late 1880s by French colonists, stands as a prominent symbol of Catholicism in predominantly Buddhist Vietnam. Nestled in Paris Square, the cathedral earned its name after the installation of the "Peaceful Notre Dame" statue in 1959.
In 1962, the Vatican elevated its status to a basilica, officially renaming it the Saigon Notre-Dame Cathedral Basilica. Rising nearly 60 meters tall, this architectural gem showcases distinctive neo-Romanesque features, including its striking all-red brick façade made from bricks imported from Marseille. Its design is further enhanced by intricate stained-glass windows and two impressive bell towers housing six bronze bells that still chime today. Surrounded by a tranquil garden, the cathedral offers a moment of serenity amidst the bustling streets of downtown Ho Chi Minh City's District 1.

Situated right next to Notre Dame Cathedral, these two iconic landmarks can be explored together, offering visitors a glimpse into what life might have been like in Vietnam during the era of the Indochinese Empire. Designed by Alfred Foulhoux, the building boasts elegant arched windows and classic wooden shutters, preserving much of its late 19th-century charm.

Улица Тау Сай Гон (район Чо Лон 5)
Ho Chi Minh City's Cholon, Vietnam's largest Chinatown, traces its origins back to 1778 and holds significant historical and cultural value. This district became a refuge for Chinese minorities fleeing the Tay Son rebellion, although it faced immense tragedies, including attacks that destroyed the area twice. An estimated 70% of those attempting to escape by boat perished. The survivors, however, rebuilt their lives, establishing a community and trading Chinese goods.
Today, Cholon offers visitors a glimpse into classic Chinese architectural styles that echo the past, complemented by numerous authentic Chinese restaurants. At its heart lies the bustling Binh Tay Market, a lively but chaotic hub with narrow aisles teeming with all sorts of wares. While some tourists may find the market's offerings less diverse compared to others in Ho Chi Minh City, Cholon’s appeal lies not in shopping but in its uniquely preserved Chinese ambiance, which has endured for centuries.

Храм Ба Тьен Хау
Ba Thien Hau Temple in Saigon is a Buddhist temple dedicated to Mazu, the Chinese sea goddess who is believed to protect and save sailors and ships by drifting on a mat or cloud. Mazuism blends elements of Taoism and Buddhism, creating a belief system that incorporates various traditions and practices into a unified whole. The temple is located in Cholon, Saigon's Chinatown, situated in District 5, approximately a twenty-minute drive from the city center.
Originally built in 1760 to honor Mazu, known as the "Lady of the Sea," the temple features an ornate and historically rich design. Upon entering through the iron gate, visitors are greeted by large stone incense burners positioned near the altar dedicated to Mazu. The exterior is adorned with traditional architectural elements, including a curved roof decorated with small porcelain figures that represent themes from Chinese religion and folklore.

Рынок Бен Тхань
Ben Thanh Market, located in District 1 of Ho Chi Minh City, is an ideal destination for anyone seeking local handicrafts, branded items, Vietnamese art, and various souvenirs. Within the bustling market, there are food stalls offering hawker-style Vietnamese dishes, perfect for sampling the local cuisine or refreshing yourself with a cold drink when the haggling starts to wear you down.
Spanning a considerable area, the market can feel overwhelming and challenging to navigate at times. It's best to avoid visiting during the hottest hours of the day, yet despite these challenges, it remains a must-see spot. As evening arrives, restaurants surrounding the market come alive, creating a lively street-side atmosphere infused with the aromas of wok-fired noodles and grilled fish and meats. Being one of Saigon's oldest landmarks, Ben Thanh Market boasts an unmistakable charm and embodies a quintessentially Vietnamese experience.
