The tour continues to the Candy Cane Mountains, located in the Khizi District, reached by a 50-minute drive from Beshbarmag. These pigment variations are produced through long-term oxidation processes affecting iron-rich sediments. The striped patterns intensify under low-angle sunlight and represent a visually distinct example of Azerbaijan’s geological diversity. The color bands result from mineral weathering rather than stratified sediment layering, giving the hills their signature painted appearance.
