Your journey will take you to the early Christian Roman fortress "Tsari Mali Grad", located on the hill of St. Spas at the foot of Verila Mountain. The fortress is a historical site of exceptional importance for Bulgaria explored in 2007. It was built during the early Christian period and was an important defense and cultural center during antiquity and the early Byzantine period. Archaeological research on the hill "St. Spas" reveals five phases from the early Iron Age to the Byzantine period, including Thracian cult pits, a Roman fortress with towers, and an early Christian church. There, you will have about 1 hour to explore the fortress and to take memorable photos!

"Tsar Mali Grad" is the old name of the village of Belchin. It is located in the immediate vicinity of the early Christian Roman fortress. Belchin is famous for its warm mineral springs with healing properties since ancient times. The mineral water in Belchin is suitable for the treatment of the peripheral nervous system, joint, gynecological and orthopedic diseases.
