Портовенере
Portovenere is a charming fishing village located at the western end of the Gulf of La Spezia, also known as the "Gulf of Poets". Together with the nearby islands Palmaria, Tino and Tinetto, it has been recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1997 for its inestimable landscape and cultural value.
The village is famous for its iconic Palazzata a Mare, a long row of colorful tower-houses, tall and narrow, leaning against each other, overlooking the marina.
On top of the promontory dominates the majestic Castello Doria, an ancient Genoese fortress.
At the base of the promontory is the suggestive Church of San Pietro, built overlooking the sea in Genoese Gothic style.
Just below the church is the famous Byron Cave, a natural cavity named after the Romantic poet Lord Byron.
In summary, Portovenere offers a perfect fusion of medieval history, Ligurian architecture and breathtaking natural beauty.

It is the easternmost and southernmost village of the Cinque Terre, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is famous for being the beginning (or end) of the Way of Love. The village is built along the valley of the Rivus Maior stream, with its iconic tower-houses rising on three or four floors, leaning against each other and carved into the rock.
The main road, Via Colombo, follows the covered course of the ancient stream, while the side streets ("carrugi") are narrow and steep. The picturesque marina is a small fjord surrounded by these pastel-coloured houses, offering one of the most photographed views of the Ligurian Riviera.
On the upper part of the village is the Castle of Riomaggiore and the Church of San Giovanni Battista. The territory is surrounded by the characteristic terraces cultivated with vineyards that produce the renowned D wines.O.C. of the Cinque Terre. Riomaggiore is the emblem of Ligurian tenacity, a village where architecture blends with the wild nature of the coast.

It is the second village of the Cinque Terre and is famous all over the world for its unmistakable panorama and its wine tradition. Similar to Riomaggiore, the tower-houses of are painted in the bright pastel colors typical of Liguria and climb the steep rocky promontory overlooking the sea. The most photographed point of Manarola is the Via Belvedere or Punta Bonfiglio, which offers a breathtaking view of the entire village clinging to the cliff.
Manarola is historically the heart of the production of the renowned Sciacchetrà passito wine and its steep terraces cultivated with vineyards dominate the surrounding landscape.
On the hill that embraces the village, every year from December 8, the suggestive Luminous Nativity of Manarola is set up, the largest of its kind in the world, made with hundreds of bright figures.
