Western Approaches offers a truly unique glimpse of a hidden, secret world which had an important place and role to play in war torn Liverpool. Now, the bunker is a hidden gem and an important time capsule left as it would have been in 1945. Visiting the bunker not only explains the vital work achieved within it, it also brings to life stories of the people who served there and even lived there. 80% of the 300 staff who worked there at any one time were women aged between 17-22 and we recognise the hard work, sacrifice and expertise these women had and the roles they performed. Walk through hidden rooms and discover the stories locked in the wartime bunker that protected the tactics and secrets of the British Armed Forces plotting to bulwark the Western Approaches and aid the Allied victory. The bunker is a museum but we fully encourage visitors to sit at the desks, touch the typewriters and telephones used by the staff to discover a truly immersive experience.

The Liverpool Beatles Museum houses one of the largest Beatles collections in the world, featuring over 1000 never before seen authentic items across three floors. A visit to the museum is a journey through the early days in Liverpool and Hamburg, their rise to worldwide fame and their innovative studio years. Located in a Grade II listed building in the heart of the world-famous Mathew Street, The Liverpool Beatles Museum offers a new perspective on the iconic band. Original guitars and drums from the band’s Hamburg days, John Lennon Sgt Pepper medals, the white cello from Magical Mystery Tour and Paul McCartney’s bass amp are just a few of the things you can find at the Liverpool Beatles Museum. Guests cans also explore hundreds of other personal items, including never before seen letters, exclusive interviews with the band members and previously unseen footage of the Beatles at this one of a kind museum dedicated to the greatest rock and roll band of all time!

Experience through archival footage, photographs and timelines and our specialist media guides the world where John Lennon played as a child and what happened behind the famous red gates. Visits will also include a tour of the garden and woods where John played as a child allowing a chance for spiritual exploration. Learn about links with The Salvation Army and the work carried out at Strawberry Field today through the Steps to Work programme. Visitors will also have the option to purchase refreshments and gifts at the café and shop.

The British Music Experience tells the story of British Music through costumes, instruments, performance and memorabilia. Whatever age you are, and whatever you are into, there is something here for you. We’ve got outfits worn by artists from Freddie Mercury to the Spice Girls, musical instruments from Queen’s Roger Taylor and memorabilia from the Beatles through to Adele. You can also Dance the Decades in our studio, sing your heart out or play top guitars and drums. The current temporary exhibition is 50 Years of Rock Against Racism. The exhibition will run from 10th September 2026 to 3rd January 2027. The exhibition inside the Star Café & Bar is free to visit. The museum exhibition is included with all general entry tickets. After the main event browse an exclusive range of gifts, clothing, books and memorabilia from the Merch Store and you can rest those dancing feet with a selection of delicious snacks and meals in the Star Café.
