On this Banjul City Tour we will be visiting some of the main attractions for people who are interested in history! During this tour we will visit the Arch 22, Gambia National Museum and the Albert Market which is named after Queen Victoria's husband Prince Albert. This excursion is for those of you who want to experience a lot in a single day. We start early in the morning and visit Kachikally Crocodile pool, Serekunda market, Lamin lodge, The wood carving factory in Brikama, Paradise Beach in Sanyang and Tanji fish market. Then we take a canoe ride along the Mandinga Bolong creek in a traditional African pirogue. You will also have the possibility to try out some fresh palm juice or get your fortune told by the local Marabout.. This tour is unique as you will see zebra, giraffes, antelopes, and rhinos in their natural habitat. A guide will have done research that morning, so they will know where the animals are, so you will definitely see the animals. The guide will be able to answer questions and explain the animals and habitat to you.

The menu varies from meat and fish dishes like Yassa, to Benachin rice. We also make local juices like Baobab and Wonjo juice, which is a dark cranberry-coloured juice, made from boiling the dark red flower from the sorrel plant. We will take you to a local market, dress in a traditional Gambian outfit and help you shop for food items or you to take home. We will then give you the guidelines on how to cook Gambian cuisine. You will then do the cooking including all the preparation of meats, vegetables, fish and rice. Finally, we sit as a family and friends and devour the meal before returning to the hotel.

We depart early around 06.00hrs and head to Banjul for our ferry crossing to Barra. We will be welcomed into the Fathala Nature Reserve currently 2000 acres of a natural environment which many African Wildlife have now made their home. On our 4 X 4 vehicle, we will be able to follow the animal tracks through the wilderness in search of some of the species that roam the area. In just 1 - 2hrs, it is possible to spot Giraffes, Rhinos, Giant Elands, Zebras , Antelopes, Warthogs, Buffaloes to mention only a few – How lucky you might be? Don’t forget your cameras – this may be your only chance to take some amazing pictures! Lunch in the wild and drinks are available to buy during the day at the park. An optional Lion Walk of about 30mins if available for those who dare to take part (paid locally). We depart early to explore both sides of the Gambia (north and south),we drive cross to the North Bank to visit the Wassu Stone Circles, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Drive to Kuntaur to board our boat to explore the River Gambia, a 2-3hrs relaxing cruise. Be on the lookout for Hippos, Crocodiles, Baboons, Monkeys, colourful birds and Chimpanzees. We will be cruising around River Gambia National Park (RGNP) before returning back to Kuntaur for our evening drive to Janjangbureh.
