Travel back to the Gold Rush era and see how Fairbanks was built. Ride a replica narrow-gauge train into the historic mining site, learn how massive dredges transformed the landscape, and watch a live demonstration explaining how gold was extracted from frozen ground. Then try gold panning yourself and keep what you find. Standing beside the towering Dredge 8 gives powerful perspective on the scale and grit that shaped Interior Alaska.
