Surfing since 1997 and teaching ocean sports professionally since 2003, Dom combines a First Class Natural Sciences degree with RLSS lifeguard and RYA VHF qualifications, bringing scientific understanding, fieldcraft and professional judgement to every session.
Rather than returning to the same location each day, every trip is tuned to recent, current and forecast wind, swell, tide and underwater visibility, selecting the venue offering the best combination of safety and hunting conditions. P

Meet your guide at Surf Sanctuary, based at The Headland Hotel in Newquay. After changing into your equipment, you'll be introduced to safe spearfishing, including equipment use, safety procedures, fish identification, legal minimum sizes and responsible harvesting.
Rather than visiting the same location every day, your guide will assess the wind, swell, tide and underwater visibility before selecting the most suitable venue. Depending on conditions, this may be in Newquay or elsewhere on Cornwall's coastline.
