Saint Blaise
We will walk through the Barrio de San Blas, known as the "Balcon del Cusco", where workshops and shops of artisans and artists are developed. An example of this art are the world famous archangels with long necks, multicolored and emblematic, made of wood and pasta. Then we will visit some tourist and cultural attractions of the city like the pulpit of San Blas, masterpiece of the colonial Andean art that is found in the Church of San Blas.
The most important quality of this tourist area is that it contains a spectacular pulpit carved in cedar wood, which is the most surprising piece of artistic carpentry in the Spanish Churrigueresque style. Its elaboration is attributed to the architect and indigenous sculptor Juan Tomás Tuyro Túpac who elaborated the main altarpiece of the temple, where an exquisite exornation is appreciated that evidences a deep theological knowledge, also of style churrigueresco
