Ano Mera
Ano Mera is the second-largest settlement on Mykonos and offers a peaceful escape from the bustling main town. Located in the heart of the island, this traditional Cycladic village showcases authentic Mykonian life with its whitewashed houses, flower-filled courtyards, and family-run tavernas serving homemade Greek dishes. The central square is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the tranquil rhythm of local life.

Monastère de Panayia Tourliani
At the heart of Ano Mera lies the Monastery of Panagia Tourliani, one of Mykonos’ most significant religious landmarks. Founded in 1542 and later restored in 1767, the monastery is dedicated to the Virgin Mary. It features an impressive whitewashed exterior, a beautiful bell tower, and a carved wooden iconostasis—a masterpiece of ecclesiastical art. Inside, visitors will find rare icons, holy relics, and a sense of spiritual calm. The small museum adjacent to the monastery displays vestments, ecclesiastical vessels, and antique religious artifacts.

À Kalafatis
Kalafatis Beach is one of the island’s most family-friendly and sporty beaches. Known for its turquoise waters and fine golden sand, it’s popular among windsurfers, divers, and water-sports enthusiasts. The beach is well-organized, offering sunbeds, umbrellas, and water sport centers. A few restaurants and tavernas nearby serve fresh seafood with a sea view. Despite being well-equipped, Kalafatis retains a laid-back atmosphere, making it perfect for both adventure and relaxation.

Kalo Livadi
Stretching along the southern coast, Kalo Livadi Beach is one of the longest and most beautiful beaches on Mykonos. Framed by low hills and crystal-clear shallow waters, it attracts both families and those seeking stylish beach clubs and music lounges. The beach’s combination of luxury facilities and natural beauty makes it a favorite among both locals and visitors. Whether you want to swim, sunbathe, or sip cocktails by the sea, Kalo Livadi offers the ideal setting.

Les Moulins à vent (Kato Milli)
The iconic windmills of Mykonos are perhaps the island’s most recognized landmarks. Dating back to the 16th century, they once harnessed the strong northern winds to grind grain for the island’s residents. Located above Mykonos Town, near the Alefkandra area, the seven preserved windmills (especially Kato Mili) overlook the sea and offer stunning sunset views. Today, they stand as symbols of the island’s rich history and picturesque charm.

Petite Venise
Little Venice is one of the most romantic and photographed neighborhoods on Mykonos. Built right on the edge of the sea, its colorful houses with balconies overhanging the water once belonged to wealthy merchants and captains. Now, they host stylish bars, cafés, and boutiques, creating a lively yet elegant atmosphere. At sunset, Little Venice becomes a magical scene of golden light reflecting on the Aegean — an unmissable experience.

Rue Matoyianni
Matoyianni (or Matogianni) Street is the beating heart of Mykonos Town — a maze of narrow cobblestone alleys lined with boutiques, jewelry shops, art galleries, cafés, and bars. It perfectly captures the island’s vibrant cosmopolitan spirit. By day, it’s a paradise for shopping lovers; by night, it transforms into a lively hub of social life. Strolling down Matoyianni is an essential Mykonos experience, blending traditional charm with modern luxury.

Église de Paraportiani
The Church of Panagia Paraportiani is a true architectural gem and one of the most famous churches in Greece. Located in the Kastro area of Mykonos Town, it is actually a complex of five small churches built between the 15th and 17th centuries. The irregular whitewashed structure, with its smooth, flowing lines, exemplifies Cycladic architecture at its finest. Its name means “Our Lady of the Side Gate,” as it was built next to the entrance of the old castle. This is one of the most photographed landmarks on the island.
