Minca
Your adventure starts with a 4x4 pickup right from your hotel. The tour takes you through Minca, the ecological capital, where the aroma of coffee plants will envelop you. You will ascend a rugged road but with breathtaking views of the city of Santa Marta and the lagoon complex of Ciénaga, until you reach the Hostal de Moncho at 2,800 meters above sea level.
After a delicious coffee and a light breakfast, you will go on a trek of about 5 hours. You will enjoy a 360° view over the stunning Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, while on the side you will see the city of Santa Marta and Tayrona Park. Keep your eyes open to spot birds unique to this region. You will reach the highest point, Cerro Kennedy, at 3,060 meters high, from where you will begin a descent to the comfortable Hostal Altos de la Sierra. There you will enjoy lunch and the opportunity to share with locals.
