After pickup at the arranged meeting point in Baku, we drive 50 minutes to the Gobustan State Historical and Cultural Reserve. Guests begin their journey at the Gobustan Museum, a cutting-edge facility showcasing over 6,000 Stone Age rock engravings that depict prehistoric hunting, rituals and daily life. The museum provides a deep scientific context, enhancing understanding of the region’s archaeological and cultural significance. Next, the tour moves 3 minutes to the Gobustan Rock Shelters and Caves, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The final stop is Yanardag - Burning Mountain, located 30 minutes from the Fire Temple. This natural eternal flame has burned continuously for centuries, with flames reaching up to 3 meters high from porous sandstone vents. Unlike mud volcanoes, Yanardag produces a steady, mesmerizing wall of fire, especially dramatic at dusk. Guests spend 30 minutes observing this natural wonder while enjoying panoramic scenery.
The tour concludes with a 40-minute drive back to the hotel or arranged drop-off point in Baku. The total duration is 7-8 hours under standard conditionsş
