Puma Punku, also called "Pumapunku" or "Puma Puncu", is part of the Tiahuanaco monumental complex near the town of Tiwanaku in the Department of La Paz, Bolivia. It is located southwest of the Kalasasaya Temple. In Aymara, its name means, "La Puerta del Puma"

The Temple of Kalasasaya or Temple of the Standing Stones, is located in Tiwanaku, Bolivia, where the changes of seasons and the 365-day solar year were accurately verified. At the equinoxes the Sun rises through the center of the main entrance door, which is accessed by a magnificent staircase.
