La mosquée Jami-Ul-Alfar (Mosquée Rouge) est une mosquée historique de Colombo, au Sri Lanka. Elle est située sur Second Cross Street à Pettah. C'est l'une des plus anciennes mosquées de Colombo et un site touristique populaire de la ville.

Colombo Lotus Tower – South Asia’s tallest self-supported structure and Sri Lanka’s tallest skyscraper – was established in 2012. Over the past ten years since its inception up to now, the city of Colombo has watched as the tower transformed the landscape of the city. The Lotus Tower grew from a mere stem to a monumental structure that resembles the country’s rapid development in technology and tourism. Colombo Lotus Tower Management Company (Pvt) Ltd was established in March 2022 under the Treasury, and all its transactions are audited by the Auditor General’s Department. Accordingly the tower was opened to public on 15th September 2022 with an overwhelming excitement from the public.

Sri Kailasanathar Swami Devasthanam, or Kapikaawatha Shivan Temple as it is also called by its devotees, is the oldest Hindu Temple in Colombo. Dedicated to the gods Ganesha and Shiva, the temple has been around for over two centuries. It’s also one of the most beautiful temples in Colombo.

Seema Malaka (cinghalais : සීමා මාලකය) est un temple bouddhiste situé à Colombo, au Sri Lanka. Il est principalement utilisé pour la méditation et le repos, plutôt que pour le culte. Situé sur le lac Beira, le temple a été construit à la fin du XIXe siècle.[1][2][3] Seema Malaka fait partie du temple Gangaramaya et se trouve à quelques centaines de mètres à l'est.

PARC VIHARAMAHADEVI Le parc Viharamahadevi (anciennement parc Victoria) est un parc public situé à Colombo, à côté du Musée national du Sri Lanka. C'est le plus ancien et le plus grand parc du port de Colombo. Situé en face de l'hôtel de ville, datant de l'époque coloniale, il porte le nom de la reine Viharamahadevi, mère du roi Dutugamunu. Construit sur un terrain donné à la ville de Colombo par Charles Henry de Soysa pendant la domination britannique du Sri Lanka, il était autrefois appelé « parc Victoria » en hommage à la reine Victoria. Pendant la Seconde Guerre mondiale, il fut occupé par l'armée britannique, avec la 17e brigade australienne basée au parc Victoria. Après la guerre, le parc fut restauré et ouvert au public en 1951.

L'Independence Memorial Hall (également connu sous le nom de Independence Commemoration Hall) est un monument national sri-lankais construit pour commémorer l'indépendance du Sri Lanka vis-à-vis du régime britannique, avec le rétablissement de la pleine responsabilité gouvernementale à une législature élue par les Ceylanais le 4 février 1948. Il est situé sur la place de l'Indépendance (anciennement Torrington Square), dans les jardins de Cinnamon, à Colombo. Il abrite également le musée du Mémorial de l'Indépendance. Le monument a été érigé à l'endroit même où la cérémonie officielle marquant le début de l'autonomie, avec l'ouverture du premier parlement par le prince Henry, duc de Gloucester, s'est déroulée sur une tribune spéciale le 4 février 1948.

Galle Face Green est un parc urbain de 5 hectares (12 acres) en bord de mer, qui s'étend sur 500 m (1 600 pieds) le long de la côte, au cœur de Colombo, capitale financière et commerciale du Sri Lanka. La promenade a été initialement aménagée en 1859 par le gouverneur Sir Henry George Ward, bien que le Galle Face Green original s'étendait sur une superficie bien plus vaste qu'aujourd'hui. Le Galle Face Green était initialement utilisé pour les courses hippiques et comme terrain de golf, mais il a également été utilisé pour le cricket, le polo, le football, le tennis et le rugby.

The building reflects seventeenth-century Dutch colonial architecture.[2] The building has five wings forming two courtyards. It is designed to keep out the heat and humidity and provide a comfortable environment within. Like many Colombo Dutch buildings of the era, the walls are 50 cm thick. The structure features massive teak beams. The upper floor is located in the front wing and can be reached with a wooded staircase. This upper storey has a wooden floor. A long open veranda runs along the length of each wing of the building.[2] Paintings of the front and rear views of the Colombo hospital, done in 1771 by a Dutch artist—presumably Johannes Rach—are preserved in the Koninklijk Instituut voor Taal-, Land- en Volkenkunde at Leiden, in the Netherlands.
