Today, our guide will meet you at the Chengdu airport at 7:30am or any time before 15:00pm then transfer to Chengdu Panda Base, need 40 minutes driving, 36km.

First, you will visit the Chengdu's Giant Panda Breeding Research Base which is home to over 80 of China's iconic pandas. Most are of the familiar black and white variety, but the Base is also home to a number of the smaller, lesser-known red pandas. You'll view the animals eating and at play in a carefully maintained habitat that is as close to their natural environment as possible. You'll also learn how scientists and ecologists are working to protect the few remaining wild pandas and expand the captive population. On that last note, over 100 bears have been born at the Base since 1987. The Base became even more important after the Sichuan earthquake of 2008, with eight bears sent here from the badly damaged Wolong reserve. Your visit provides both moral and financial support for the ongoing conservation effort.

Then we will go to visit the People's Park (Renmin Park), a good place to experience the leisure life of the locals. Many people get together to have fun here. You will see a lot of activities going on at the same time, people playing Taichi, groups of dancing, singing, playing Mahjong, painting calligraphy with large brushes and water, sipping in a peaceful tea house by the lake. There is even a corner where middle-aged parents search for marriage partners for their daughters and sons by displaying their detailed information. It is very interesting and is a part of modern Chinese culture.

Next,we will take you to visit Jinli Street, a Chinese traditional pedestrian street packed with many beautiful shops, restaurants, tea houses and bars. Wandering along this street is a great way to experience the cultural side of the city as there is so much to look at, people yelling and screaming, munching on all kinds of different foods, watching Chinese mask art show, which are all part of the fun.
