Cameron Highlands : une merveille de la nature et un explorateur de Rafflesia
Un programme d'une journée passionnant, où vous serez émerveillé par la plus grande fleur du monde. Assister à sa floraison est un privilège rare grâce à la floraison inhabituelle de la Rafflesia. Ces fleurs géantes ne durent que 5 à 7 jours. Parfois, il n'y a pas de floraison pendant plusieurs mois. Commencez par un trajet en 4x4 jusqu'au site de Rafflesia et une randonnée d'une heure et demie. Poursuivez votre route vers un village aborigène où un guide vous expliquera leur mode de vie quotidien (le village aborigène est temporairement fermé depuis 2020). Le voyage se termine à la plantation de thé de Sungai Palas et à la visite de la plus ancienne usine de thé de Malaisie. Conclusion : retour à votre hôtel.
La forêt de mousse est un environnement naturel qui ne pousse qu'aux plus hautes altitudes des hauts plateaux du Cameroun et d'autres chaînes de montagnes de Malaisie. À ces altitudes, les nuages bas, poussés par les vents, enveloppent les forêts d'une brume et d'une humidité constantes, créant un biotope idéal pour les mousses, les fougères, les lichens et les orchidées. Cette forêt tropicale humide sempervirente abrite également une faune montagnarde variée, comprenant des insectes, des serpents, des grenouilles, des oiseaux et des mammifères propres à cette atmosphère froide. Les visiteurs peuvent explorer la forêt de mousse par une promenade en bois située 2 km avant le sommet du Gunung Brinchang, au départ d'une clairière le long de la route principale.
Découverte du lever du soleil dans les Cameron Highlands
Rien de tel que de se lever tôt pour admirer le lever du soleil et respirer l'air frais des Cameron Highlands lors de cette excursion de 3h30. Réveillez-vous tôt et admirez le soleil percer les nuages et éclairer les montagnes, marquant le début d'une nouvelle journée. L'excursion se poursuit ensuite vers les contreforts, depuis les barrières de la forêt de mousse. Un guide vous proposera une promenade d'interprétation dans cette forêt enchantée. Suite à une nouvelle réglementation du service forestier, la forêt de mousse est désormais entourée de barrières en bois. Enfin, terminez cette excursion en vous rendant à la plantation de thé de Sungai Palas Boh pour une introduction à la transformation du thé et une tasse de thé matinal.
En plus d'offrir un répit à la chaleur tropicale, les températures plus basses et les précipitations régulières ont fait de la région un lieu privilégié pour cultiver tout ce dont chacun a besoin. En traversant les Hautes Terres, vous découvrirez des paysages enchanteurs de collines de thé vallonnées. Visiter la célèbre plantation de thé de Boh pour découvrir les lieux et déguster une tasse de thé est un incontournable lors de votre séjour ici ; une expérience unique en Asie du Sud-Est. Des sentiers de randonnée bien établis parcourent toute la région, le plus célèbre étant la promenade en bois qui traverse la forêt de mousse. Villages indigènes de Malaisie, les Orang Asli sont souvent visités par les touristes qui souhaitent rencontrer le peuple aborigène et comprendre sa culture. Les Orang Asli sont présents dans de nombreuses régions de Malaisie, et leur mode de vie dépend de leur lieu de résidence. Les Orang Laut, Orang Seletar et Mah Meri vivent le long de la côte et sont pêcheurs. Les Temuan, Jakun et Semai se sont tournés vers l'agriculture, certains possédant même des plantations d'hévéas, de palmiers à huile et de cacao. Environ 40 % de la population Orang Asli vit encore dans la forêt. Ils cultivent le riz de montagne, pratiquent la chasse et la cueillette, et font le commerce de produits forestiers tels que le petai, le durian, le rotin et les résines. Les habitants de la forêt comprennent les Semai, les Temiar, les Che Wong, les Jah Hut, les Semelai et les Semoq Beri. Un petit nombre d'entre eux continuent de vivre en nomades au cœur de la forêt tropicale, notamment les groupes Negrito comme les Jahai et les Lanoh.
