La province de Ha Giang, au nord du Vietnam, est une région peu fréquentée par les touristes. À commencer par les collines, les vallées et les villages peuplés de minorités ethniques (Hmong, Tay, Dao, Nung, Lo Lo, Giay, Pu Peo). Le site le plus éloigné et le plus beau de la province de Ha Giang est le géoparc mondial karstique de Dong Van, classé par l'UNESCO parmi les 77 sites d'un important patrimoine géologique et culturel. Ce géoparc est parsemé de formations karstiques éthérées vieilles de près de 400 millions d'années et compte deux zones protégées. Le géoparc karstique de Dong Van abrite 17 groupes ethniques minoritaires.
