Beginning as just a crack at the edge of a sand plateau, the White Canyon is a narrow sandstone canyon that opens to a wider wadi and continues on to the lush oasis of Ain Khudra. The brilliant white color of the canyon comes from the limestone that is part of its makeup. Be sure to wear sunglasses to avoid damage to your eyes, as the reflected light is incredibly strong.
You will start out at 08:00 on an hour’s drive from Dahab and then ride on the back of a camel for a half hour to the entrance of the White Canyon.
