Itinerary
Explore the beautiful Pilot Bay waters of Mount Maunganui under the guidance of local Māori instructors. The session begins on land by transferring the canoes into the water, some safety guidance, and instruction on paddling technique and working as a team. Guests then take to the water, paddling together as a crew while practicing strokes, timing, and coordination. The adventure continues along the bay, allowing guests to enjoy views of Mauao and the surrounding shoreline, experience the rhythm of the ocean, and learn about the history of Waka Ama and voyaging.
