Itinerary
1
Moana Surfrider, A Westin Resort & Spa, Waikiki Beach
This fun Glide departs following your lesson and will take you all through Waikiki via King Kalakaua Avenue, stopping at the historic Moana Surfrider hotel, the ‘First Lady of Waikiki’ built in 1901, on the land that once housed King Kalakaua’s beach house.
2
Statue of Duke Kahanamoku
We then glide to the iconic Duke Kahanamoku Statue – the ‘Father of Modern Day Surfing.’
3
Waikiki Aquarium
We then glide past the Waikiki Aquarium and to the historic WWI Natatorium and on to the historic cottage homes along Coconut Avenue at the base of Diamond Head.
4
Diamond Head State Monument
We soon glide up Diamond Head Road – riding the ‘face’ of Diamond Head (or as the locals call it, Mount Leahi) Crater and take in the beautiful $Million-dollar estates as we approach the historic Diamond Head Lighthouse
5
Amelia Earhart's Marker
The Amelia Earhart Lookout (Diamond Head Lookout). We arrive at the lookout point with its spectacular views of Koko Head Crater, Molokai and the Maui Island in the distance and the surfers below and so much more.
6
Honolulu Zoo
We then make our way down from the lookout, as we glide around historic Kapiolani Park and the Honolulu Zoo – that was created by King David Kalakaua and stockholders originally as an exclusive residential district that included a horse track in 1876. It was named for Queen Kapiolani, King Kalakaua’s wife.
7
Ala Wai Canal
We then glide all along the Ala Wai Canal with her gorgeous views of the Koolau Mountains, the paddlers and those enjoying the canal’s promenade back to our starting point.
