1
Enoshima Island
Enoshima is a charming island located near Kamakura. From Enoshima, you can enjoy a stunning view of the surrounding sea and, on clear days, catch a glimpse of Mt. Fuji rising majestically on the horizon.
One of the island's most revered deities is Benzaiten. According to local legend, Benzaiten created Enoshima and later subdued a five-headed dragon that was terrorizing the region.
A visit to Enoshima isn’t complete without a stroll down Benzaiten Shopping Street, a charming, old-fashioned shopping alley. Lined with small shops and restaurants where you can find unique souvenirs and sample delicious Japanese street food, including local seafood, ice cream, beer, and so on.

Enoshima Shrine Hetsumiya
Enoshima Shrine consists of three main shrines: Hetsumiya, Nakatsumiya, and Okutsumiya. It was originally built to honor the deities of fishing and maritime transport; however, over time, it also became associated with the gods of music, wealth, and good fortune.
The main complex features an octagonal building that houses one of Japan's three most revered statues of Benten, the patron goddess of Enoshima. Since Benten is also the goddess of wealth, some visitors choose to wash their money in the pond at the shrine for good fortune.

Lake Ashinoko
Lake Ashi was formed 3,000 years ago and is a serene lake surrounded by mountains, serving as the symbol of Hakone. The beautiful contrast between the white clouds, the blue lake, and the green mountains creates one of the most popular views in Japan. Regardless of the season, visitors can enjoy Lake Ashi from a sightseeing vessel designed to resemble a pirate ship.

Hakone Sightseeing Cruise
Hakone sightseeing cruises, inspired by European battleships, offer stunning views of Mt. Fuji reflected on the serene surface of Lake Ashi, surrounded by beautiful nature. Three uniquely designed ships sail on the lake, allowing visitors to enjoy the spectacular sight of them passing each other.
On a clear day, views of Mt. Fuji in the distance and the bright red torii of Hakone Shrine seen from the deck of one of these ships can create unforgettable memories.

5
Hakone Ropeway
The ropeway provides panoramic views of the volcanic landscape of Owakudani. As you ride, you'll witness the bottom of the Owakudani valley, along with sulfuric smoke rising from it. Once you disembark from the cable car, you'll be greeted by the distinctive smell of sulfur and see steam rising into the sky.

6
Owaku-dani Valley
Owakudani is a geological marvel and a highlight of any visit to Hakone, formed approximately 3,000 years ago. Japan is one of the most geologically active countries in the world, and Owakudani exemplifies the power and beauty of the Earth. The steaming vents are impressive and can be found in very few other places around the globe. You can truly sense the force of nature as you watch smoke billowing from the surface of the volcano.
While you're there, be sure to try the local specialty: Kurotamago, or black eggs, are unique to this area. These eggs are boiled in the hot spring water, which gives them their characteristic black shell. It is said that eating one of these eggs will prolong your life by seven years.
