The Salkantay Trek is one of the 25 best treks in the world, according to National Geographic Adventure Travel magazine. The Salkantay Trek is without doubt one of the best trekking adventures you'll find in Peru and on the South American continent. After the Inca Trail, the Salkantay Trek is the 2nd most popular Machu Picchu trek (and far less crowded). Hiking alongside the magnificent Apu Salkantay and arriving at the ruins of majestic Machu Picchu is one of the best experiences known to humankind. Hikers can see natural bridges, snow-capped mountains, colorful valleys, waterfalls, wild animals, unique plants and a cloud forest.

We set off early in the morning for Mollepata, where we'll enjoy breakfast, then continue on to our starting point at Challacancha. After two hours of leisurely walking, we arrive at our first camp for the night, Soraypampa, from where we'll have the opportunity to climb up to Lake Humantay.
