Fortress of the Bear is a bear refuge established in 2003 that is home to multiple brown bears and two black bears that have been rescued from all across Alaska over the years. At Fortress of the Bear, bear sightings are a guarantee! The refuge offers a board walk above the bears habitat for a more personal experience with the bears. We will educate you along the way about bears and the bear's stories in the refuge.
