This expansive plaza is the heart of Santiago de Compostela and home to several of the city's most important buildings, including the cathedral, the Palacio de Raxoi (seat of the regional government), and the Hostal de los Reyes Católicos (a former hospital that now serves as a luxury hotel). This grand cathedral is the final destination of the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage and a breathtaking example of Romanesque, Gothic, and Baroque architecture.
