We visited the largest salt mine 2.5 hours away by car(including a stop on the route for a break)
we arrive at the Slanic Prahova Salt Mine and the Salt Mountain.
The maximum depth of the mine is 217 m, and its trapezoidal chambers measure 55 m high, the total area of the mine being approximately 80,000 m2. The height of one hall is 70 m, and the circuit runs around the enormous pillar that supports the mine.
The Unirea Mine is the result of the excavation of 2.9 million m3 of salt deposit which created cavities with gigantic volumes: 14 chambers with a trapezoidal profile.
