York Minster
We will view and learn about the Minster from the outside. If you wish to enter the Minster, and this is recommended, then please do so before or after the tour.

Bootham Bar
One of four mediaeval gates to the city. Bootham Bar sits on the site off an older Roman entrance to the Roman fortress of Eboracum.

Multangular Tower
Part of the Roman fortifications, one of the few sections of Roman wall visible today.

St. Mary's Abbey
Walk through the ruins of the mediaeval St.Mary's Abbey in the Museum Gardens.

York City Walls
Walk the section of city walls from Bootham Bar to Monk Bar.

Jorvik Viking Centre
We walk past the Jorvik Centre. If you wish to visit the centre, then please do so before or after the tour.

Clifford's Tower
We finish the tour at the base of Clifford's Tower. If you wish to visit the inside of the tower, then please do so before or after the tour.

Shambles
We walk along the beautiful, world famous Shambles.

From Dean's Park we will observe and learn about York Minster.

We will leave the city walls at this point and learn about this famous entrance to the mediaeval city, before heading into the centre of the city.

We walk around the grounds of this impressive mediaeval hall. If you wish to visit inside this impressive building then please do so either before or after the tour.
