Hierve el Agua
We will make a quick stop for breakfast in a local dining room where we can find coffee, hot chocolate, memelitas and tacos.
Then we will visit Hierve el Agua, a unique natural site with petrified waterfalls and mineral pools. They can walk among its impressive formations, enjoy panoramic views of the valley and relax in a setting surrounded by nature.

Zona Arqueologica de Mitla
We will visit Mitla, the second most important archaeological area of Oaxaca. They will admire its temples and palaces decorated with unique stone mosaics in Mesoamerica, reflecting Zapotec art and worldview.

San Pablo Villa de Mitla
We will stop at a local restaurant to taste authentic Oaxacan cuisine. You can try traditional dishes such as mole, tlayudas and handmade tortillas, an essential part of Oaxaca culture.

Santiago Matatlan
We will visit a palenque de mezcal to learn about the artisan process of this ancient drink. From agave cooking to distillation, you can taste different mezcals and discover their unique flavors.

Teotitlan del Valle
We will meet Teotitlán del Valle, a Zapotec town renowned for its textile tradition. Here craftsmen produce mats and textiles on pedal looms, using techniques handed down for generations. They will see how natural plant-based dyes and insects like cochineal are prepared, and how each design reflects the history and worldview of the community.
