The history of Valdobbiadene is intrinsically linked to that of its wine. According to historical sources, the first vines in this area were planted by the Romans, who appreciated them
a lot of native vines. But it was in the Middle Ages that Valdobbiadene wine began to gain popularity thanks to the Benedictine monks who, with their love for agriculture, significantly improved the cultivation of vines. Today, Prosecco Superiore DOCG represents
the oenological excellence of Valdobbiadene.
