The Church of St. Peter: Iconic symbol, stands on a rocky outcrop overlooking the sea. Built in Gothic-Genoese style with black and white stripes, it offers a breathtaking view.
The Doria Castle: Imposing fortress overlooking the village from above, witness to the strategic importance of Portovenere, particularly under the rule of the Republic of Genoa.

Riomaggiore
It is famous for being the entrance village of the Cinque Terre and for its unique architecture that takes full advantage of the steep and rocky terrain. It features an authentic and lively atmosphere DA. Its houses are built vertically, leaning against each other and painted in the bright pastel colors typical of Liguria. The peculiarity is given by the "tower-houses", developed in height and often with two entrances: one on the main street below and one at the back, at a higher level, a legacy of the ancient need to escape in case of attack.
The village descends steeply to a small and picturesque marina nestled among the rocks, where the fishermen's boats are pulled to the shore. It is the perfect place to take iconic photos or admire the view.
Riomaggiore is the starting point of the famous Via dell'Amore, the pedestrian path carved into the rock that connects it to Manarola.
Riomaggiore offers the charm of an ancient fishing and farming village, hidden between sea and hills.

Manarola
It is an ancient village whose structure is perched on a high spur of dark rock that descends steeply towards the sea.
Its most distinctive feature is the splendid panoramic DA view, from here it embraces the village with its colorful tower-houses, dense and stacked on top of each other, which seem to come out of the rock.
The heart of the village develops along the main street, which ends in a small and picturesque rocky marina where boats are pulled dry and arranged along the main street. Manarola is historically linked to the cultivation of vines on terraces overlooking the sea. Here the famous and precious wine of the Cinque Terre, Sciacchetrà, is produced.
In summary, Manarola is a perfect synthesis between the human ingenuity to cultivate the land in extreme conditions and the raw and breathtaking beauty of the Ligurian Sea.

Vernazza
The only one of the five villages to preserve a real natural harbor that once made it the most important maritime and commercial base in the area.
The village is an amphitheater of colorful houses that wedge around the marina. Here the life of the village is concentrated, between restaurants and the docking of boats.
Its appearance is deeply medieval. From the square rises the suggestive Church of Santa Margherita d'Antiochia, built on a sheer rock, with its octagonal bell tower. Dominating the village from above is the Doria Castle, a mighty fortification with a cylindrical tower, symbol of its ancient defensive importance.
The center is crossed DA a steep and narrow "carrugio" DA which steep stairs branch off that rise between the houses.
In summary, Vernazza combines the charm of fortified history with the beauty of an authentic fishing village, concentrated in an incredibly suggestive space.
