One of the most impressive features of Reynisfjara is the Reynisdrangar sea stacks, which rise up out of the sea just off the shore. Legend has it that these stacks were once trolls who were turned to stone by the rising sun. The stacks provide a stunning backdrop for the beach and are a popular subject for photographers.
