As you pass through the Serra de Agua de Pau complex, you can contemplate the caldera of the Fogo volcano where you have its beautiful lagoon, in this protected area and classified as a Natural Reserve we can observe several endemic and natural species of the Azorean flora.

Visiting the center of environmental interpretation of the old caldera we can understand the geological formation of our islands, observe several endemic and natural species of the Azores, and contemplate the natural monument of the old caldera, its waterfalls and thermal waters.

On the way to Vila das Furnas, we will stop at the centenary and only tea factory in Europe, take a guided tour, try its teas and contemplate its beautiful tea plantations.

While passing through the furnas, a mandatory stop is the lagoon of the furnas and the surrounding fumarolic field where the traditional and unique stews of the furnas are made.

On the way to Furnas we will make a short stop at the Santa Iria viewpoint, which has a fantastic view over the north coast of São Miguel.

Arriving at the volcanic complex of Furnas, we will stop at the viewpoint of Pico do Ferro, where we can observe the entire caldera of the Furnas volcano, which has its beautiful lagoon, the parish of Furnas and understand its geological formation.
