About 20 minutes south of Tulum, we have the opportunity to enjoy an incredible bird diversity, learn about the current Maya culture and the ancient Maya civilization as we walk and look for birds in the village and archaeological site of Muyil. We explore different habitats in the village with different types of vegetation: mature semi-deciduous jungle in the archaeological site of Muyil and some fresh water wetlands as we walk through flooded jungle using a boardwalk until we reach a fresh water lagoon. Zona Arqueologica de Muyil
We will start his tour taking a walk through the village of Muyil in the search for birds whilst witnessing local Mayan everyday life. Muyil village, situated half and hour from Tulum, provides an excellent opportunity to observe a wide variety of birds and ecosystems.

We continue the tour in the Muyil Archaeological Site. Learn about the many species that can be found in this beautiful archaeological site and learn about the history of this old trading post.

Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve
On option (extra fee applies) we can take a boat across a couple of lagoons and canals to look for wetland birds and take part in a relaxing float in crystal clear water and mangrove tunnels. Ask for this extra after booking!
